ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

At Porto Drach Aparthotel & Suites, we are deeply committed to sustainability and preserving the unique natural environment that surrounds us. Our privileged location in Porto Cristo, right by the sea with panoramic views over the marina, inspires us every day to protect and care for our surroundings, making responsible tourism a priority. Fully committed and aligned with the circularity and sustainable tourism plan of the Balearic Islands, we have implemented an ambitious Circularity Plan spanning from 2024 to 2029. This plan allows us to measure and optimize our environmental performance in key areas such as energy, water, waste management, responsible food sourcing, and raising internal and external awareness regarding sustainable practices. In terms of energy and as part of this plan, we strongly advocate efficiency and clean electricity generation. In 2025, we installed 126 solar panels of 435 Wp each, achieving a total installed capacity of 54,810 Wp of renewable energy. This landmark project was made possible by a significant investment of €64,420.10, partially subsidized with €41,565.43, clearly demonstrating our firm commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and responsibly managing energy resources. Regarding water management, we actively promote water-saving measures through efficient devices installed in all our taps and sanitary facilities, along with continuous preventive maintenance checks. Additionally, we encourage both our guests and employees to adopt responsible water consumption habits as part of our corporate culture. We carefully manage our waste by consistently identifying, controlling, and reducing it, with a clear objective to reduce waste by 10% by 2029. These efforts are complemented by targeted staff training initiatives and clear communication with guests to ensure proper waste sorting and recycling. Moreover, we encourage responsible and local consumption through our "Kilometer Zero" approach, directly sourcing products from Balearic Islands producers. Currently, 12% of our food purchases are locally sourced, and we are actively working to increase this percentage further, thereby supporting the local economy and reducing environmental impacts from transportation. Sustainable governance is also fundamental at our establishment. Consequently, we continuously invest in specialized sustainability training for our employees, focusing particularly on waste management and circular practices.
